Has anyone set up HAProxy or some sort of load balancer up for their on prem stream worker nodes? Would appreciate any tips or lessons learned people may have.

No big deal. Also, in certain situations of restricted budget, you can deploy HAProxy + Keepalived in two workers nodes (conveniently sized) to have HA in HAProxy.

With HAProxy you have a lot of flexibility: for example, since 3.2 you have the possibility of tuning the TCP syslog support so you can avoid tcp-pinning easily. https://www.haproxy.com/blog/announcing-haproxy-3-2#load-balancing-syslog

Awesome thank you for the info!
