Question

Do I have to set up a separate Linux server to set up a Mimecast integration?

Environment

  • Cribl Stream

Answer

Yes. Mimecast requires HMAC-based authentication and compression which are not currently supported by the default Rest Collector source. A separate Linux server is required to run a script to handle these Mimecast requirements and data is then forwarded from that server to the Stream Source.

Additional Information

We have a pack that covers this set up: Packs Dispensary: Mimecast.
